“As a child growing up in the Irish countryside (near Kilbrin in North County Cork) I spent countless hours happily wandering through fields, crossing streams and climbing trees. I was always captivated with nature and animals, so much so when asked what I’d like to be when I grew up I said I wanted to be a cow! ( I’m still working on that!!)
I’d like to think this love for animals and the Irish countryside can be found in my paintings. I am convinced that every animal has a different personality and I make it my business to capture it in an honest way”
I studied art and design at Limerick College of Art and Design. During year one I studied painting, print, sculpture, graphics, ceramics and fashion design. I took graphics for the next 3 years and graduated with a degree in graphic design. I set up a design business working with businesses developing their company brand in the Munster area. My love for art and painting never faded and in my spare time I continued to paint and explore my love for animals and the Irish countryside.
Encouraged by family and friends to share my talent, I decided to open the door to my passion and share it with those that also have a love for animals and nature. I live near Macroom in Co. Cork with my husband and daughter. You can follow me here on my blog where I document my painting journey and life in a little Irish cottage in the heart of the countryside.
